FieldML
Introduction
FieldML (Field Modelling/Markup Language) is a declarative language for building hierarchical models represented by generalized mathematical fields. It is intended to provide a framework for modelling software development and model interchange for bioengineering and general engineering analysis communities.
It is being developed as an API and software library, as part of the free, open source cmgui visualization application. The API is written in C with bindings to other languages, and the implementation can read several legacy CMISS file formats. An XML FieldML file format will also be offered to complement both established formats and the API.
The core of FieldML also forms the architecture of OpenCMISS large scale computational software.
For details on FieldML, please read the latest FieldML Specification which is largely an introduction to major concepts and a road map for development.
We invite contributions, questions and feedback on FieldML via the "FieldML specification" area of tracker.physiomeproject.org.
