This defines the mathematics which use the local element parameters and the local xi coordinates to create field values.
Do we need two types, one general and one which is linear in products between local parameters and standard basis functions or can we recognise the difference.
We propose to use MathML to describe the mathematics. Initially standard basis functions would be recognised by a specific implementation and the MathML not interpreted explicitly.
